How do I keep my plants looking fresh and get rid of that horrid brown algea what is on them. Thanks guys.

Live, plastic or silk?

Plastic or silk, just take them out and give them a clean up.

Live, a gentle rub whilst doing a water change, between the fingers. It will go eventually and usually changes to green

live plants, sorry for the lack of info. Ok I was finking off just rubbing the plants with my fingers just making sure. I have so interpet stuff aswell what says it clumps the tank algea together for easy removal, dont really want to use it thoe incase it kills my benefical bacteria.

Just do the rubbing, don't be tempted to add stuff. It should go in time as Minxy suggested :good:

could indicate lack of flow, or low CO2 what colour is the algae, can you get a pic? it is normally inevitable with slow growers, but if you spot dose with easy carbo it should keep it away

What is your spot-dosing technique, truck? Do you use a syringe and just plunge it down next to the leaf and squirt it?

because the easy carbo is denser than water you can coat the leaf and i just dribble it on the leaf, will kill algae and prevent it for a few days/weeks. i use a syringe

thx for that - my brown algae has been getting less and less but I still have a bit on some leaves and I keep forgetting this option, partially because for some reason its seems hard as heck to find good syringes over here in US pharmacies, so I'm still just using the cap to administer my Flourish Excel.
