Is there any way of to clear the water more effectivley,

Currently my tank is very brown, I do have 2 large pieces of bogwood however these were soaked at my lfs as they have plants growing off them.

I have tried carbon in my filter but that has not worked at all after changing it once a week for a month!

Any ideas on what I can do? is there such a thing that can polish the water or could it be the lights?

hmmm I thought that but it has been soaked for months!! so the tannins shouldnt be there should it. Also I really do not want to I love the look now its sooo different than in my footer!

chemical filtration will usually take out the tannins in the water which is making it go brown, if carbon isnt working trying using a product called Purigen by seachem, its a very effective chemical filter, it should help, partial water changes will also help too

I might be wrong but if you think of the florida everglades they have been soaking for 100's of years and the waters still like tea.

hmmmmm, so how do others keep a tank thats extremely clear? with bogwood

I have Mopani wood and my water is crystal clear when I use carbon in at least one of the filters. During my Ich treatment I removed the carbon. After 12 days the water was a slight tea color. Carbon went back in and the water was clear the next day. I liked the look though.
