If you are cleaning every week then it should be fine.

thanks , checked my levels today , nitrates ~ 20 ppm , ammonia and nitrites = 0 ppm and pH = 7.6 so all is good there , just put a couple of plants in so hopefully they will bring the nitrates down a bit .....

Good idea to add plants as they will help use up the nitrates. As long as you are doing a thorough gravel vac and water change weekly all is good and your stats are fine. Try to make sure you are not overfeeding and that will also keep it down.

thanks , only feeding every couple of days , and a frozen pea every now and then for a bit of fun , they go absoloutely mental when i drop one in the tank
