i have a fluval 205 and an eheim 2215 on the way for my 180l, on my smaller 60l i hae a 205 also, I am going to be exchanging media from it to get my tank instantly cycled, my question is, would it be better to split the media between the 2 fliters on my 180l, or just put it in one of them?

all views appreciated.

The word "instantly" seems like you plan to add fish immediately ... remember to test the water first ... it might not be that instant.

If you put it in both and the media is acceptable you would have 2 filters that would need to develope before handling fish .. if you put it all in one filter one will develope (possibly as its bacteria and conditions have to be right) much faster but it could be up to 3-4 weeks before the bacteria develope enough for the OTHER filter to handle detoxicfaction on its own.

just having sponges, biomax and fine filter wool.

I'll just put it in the 205 then, that filter can andle the fishes on its own so it wont be to much of a problem, thanks for replies.
