I want to put some MTS in both tanks but wasn't sure if I should put in only a small amount at a time to let the beneficial bacteria catch up or if they really contribute to the bioload that much. I'm going with MTS because I just want something small that won't eat my plants.
Also how many is a good number to keep? I know they reproduce fast. Oh and one more thing-how do you keep any babies from getting vac'd up? I do gravel vacs about twice a month especially in the big tank.
