Hoping to add some fish tomorrow but can't seem to find where on the forum it says what percentage to change? Nitrates are 80ppm. Thanks

Im in the exact spot you are and asked the same question. I was told for the first water change after a cycle is most or all of water and it must be right because before I asked I did a 50/60% water change and before and after it the Nitrates were the same at 80ppm.

I'd drain the tank right down to the substrate, personally. You might as well start off with totally new water.

I have just read that fish can stand 100ppm, so if you did a 50% water change on Friday and the same on Monday, that would not be as stressful......just my thought's

^ true, but as the OP doesn't have fish yet, she (sorry for referring to as 'she', OP!) might as well do a really big water change now.

Thanks for the replies! Did about 90%. Added a mossball too! Can you split them up? Is the idea that they can root onto bogwood etc? Sorry for the change of topic!
