ray and oddball keeper !!
nearly 285 gallons. the fx5 does far, far more filtration than the eheims, they don't even compare to the amount of water that the fx5 does, i have them sat side by side all pretty newly set up so no clogging of either, so no one can tell me that the eheim filters more water than the fx5, the amount of filtration that the fx5 does, or more the quality of it is not far different from he eheims.
the thing that push's people more towards eheims is the quality if im correct. if i had to have one of the filters either the eheim pro3 2080's or one of the fx5's it would be the fluval, i dont think id even have to put much thought into it.
i just wanted to know peoples thoughts on the turnover and the amount of filtration on the tank, not really the arguments of which filter is better, i would of had a sump but drilling the tank is more bother than its worth and in my opinion id need to have about 4 sump pumps to move as much water in the tank as these 3 filters do, and considering the 2 eheim pr03 2080's cost me next to nothing and i swapped the fx5 for some of my snakeheads i doubt a trickle filter or sump would have been any cheaper!
cheers,
Dave
