Some of you may have read that I have gone from a 28ltr to a 125ltr (because of a crisis) I lost some fish during the problems.

I will have...When they go into large tank

3 balloon mollies
5 Guppies
1 cordo
2 yamato shrimp

Now ive been told my catfish should be living with more of its kind, so I'm planning on getting more.

However how many fish could my 125ltr safely handle?

What's a cordo?
What sort of fish are you hoping to put in it?

That's it, it was early and I couldn't remember.

Sorry for the double post, I didn't realised you asked what I was planning on putting in. I'm not sure yet. Nothing to big. Maybe more Mollie or platy

 Lace Gourami?

I had been looking at Gourami and small angel fish, but then I decided against the angel fish as apparently wouldn't be suitable for my tank.

Gourami would still be ok. Is it true they should be in male and female pairs?

If I got those how many would be ok, baring in mind I plan on getting more corydora.

I would hold off on getting more fish. Which cory species have you got? If you don't know, you can post a picture and we can identify it for you.

You should find out if you have hard or soft water. We are looking specifically at gH here, but pH is also useful. Most cory species are incompatible with livebearing species because they (the cory species) prefer soft water at low pH.

For those of us who still understand imperial better than metric, a 125 litre is roughly a 33 gallon tank.  I agree with others to increase the corys and posting a photo to ID the species.  I also agree angelfish are out.

Gourami is not the best choice with guppies and mollies.  And three mollies when they mature will be a fair size.  And the GH is very important here, as mollies need moderately hard or harder water.

Byron.

Its an albino corydora. My PH is 7.6 and high range ph 7.4

The GH is critical, as you have mollies that need the harder water.  Yuo can find out the GH from your municipal water authority.

Albino is likely to be either paleatus or aeneus, as far as I know its not possible to tell by looking at it.

Thank you Byron you are a wealth of excellent advice.

I googled " Tank mates for a Pearl Gourami " ( as I have 1 on his own in a 2 foot tank ) and quite often I see Guppies mentioned, Even my LFS suggested some guppies.

The problem with online advice is that we cannot trust it unless we know the source.  Anyone can set up a website, or give out "advice," but what do they really know?  One benefit of a forum is peer review by others.

Guppies can be quite lively, and this is the problem for gourami.
