its in the cold water section though...
I fiqured that because it said ''& ponds" that I could put it hear considering they don't have a ''tropical fish and ponds'' section.

P.S. Nice bunnies. Have to love the dutch rabbits. I once has a netherland dwarf myself. :D

Ok, unless you are in a very tropical climate, where water temps will NOT fall below 72 degrees I would not recommend it. Unless you can house the oscars for a large portion of the year indoors. at 2 for a 120, I would guess possibly six in a 359.. With GREAT filtration, You wouldn't want that water to go stagnant. Oscars are incredibly messy fish.

if its heated 6 yes.... but do u want just oscars?

also i wouldnt recomend doing it if its not indoors

I would go with 5, Its pretty hard to tell them apart male to female and if you get 6 there is a 31.25% chance that you will have 3 pairs, and 3 pairs would not fit in a 360 gallon pond. If your in the southern half of florida or below you should be fine, or on the water is So. Cal. or in Northern Aus, but if not don't keep em outside all year, the stress will certainly lead to illness and quite possibly death after a year or two with temps dipping down below 60 at night

It would be a indoor heated pond. Sorry, I thought I specified that in the first post. Guess not. I don't know if I would be keeping just oscars or not at this point. I have three Red Devils but I don't know how that would work out. I'm really not sure what else I could put with them? Green terrors?

how many oscars in a 359gal pond?

title says it all.

yup i can see the abundance of information you gave out there lol

ive never kept them myself but a pal has a couple in a 6ft tank and there big buggers so id prob go with 4 ,he also says there a bit on the aggresive side now and then so maybe even just a pair would be recommmended :grr:

i wouldnt say oscars are aggresive, theyre actualy peaceful with fish their size or bigger, theyre just greedy pigs :p

I'd say Oscars can be very agressive. I used to have them. They weren't always... sometimes when I gave them guppies they'd just let them swim right over their heads and down their faces, looking at them with crossed eyes and do nothing. It was very humorous. At other times they would become very violent attacking each other and anything that moved.

I used to work in a pet store, and one of my co-workers had a scar on his hand shaped like a nickel. An oscar actually jumped out of the tank and latched onto his hand as he went to feed it!!!

the fish could have been all males or defending a breeding spot. All cichlids are like that when they do the previous things.

Oscars are semi-aggressive, and quite whimpy actually.

you just proved my point,it was feeding time, the oscar got hungry, saw something move above the water nd went for it(thats what happens in the wild)
just hungry,not aggresive
