How Many Neon's In A 125?

Manage to get a free 125 litre and was wondering how many tetras I'd fit in?

Are you still wanting to add a betta? I would personally only add around 10 so as not to stress the betta with too much movement. Also, neons can be very nippy towards bettas - I got one that had been kept in a display tank full of only neons and his fins were stumps. I actually thought I'd found a female betta.

I think you'd be betta with rasboras and a betta.

But if you're not adding the betta, you could get away with more numbers than that.

depends on the filtration. With ample (good sized external, for example) filtration you could have 30 of either in that tank.

30-40 would be absolutely fine, these things produce very little in terms of waste, but aesthetically 20-30 would look better.

Erm...ok. Despite you saying 30 based on getting the tank size wrong? "sorry. i mistook it for gallons".

If its just gonna be neons or cardinals then up to 30 is fine. But if your adding other fish we would need to know

Yeah really unsure on what direction to take this tank . . . .

be aware that if you fill a 125L with neons, they will most likely scatter and display little schoaling/schooling behaviour.

Depends what sort of visual effect you are after.
