How Many Cichlids

I am considering an african cichlid tank, specifically lake malawi. I know that cichlid tanks should be over crowded. I have a 72x24x24in 180 gallon tank and I was wondering about how many cichlids should I stock it with?

How many cichlids would really depend on what type you like. Can I suggest that you come up with a list of the Malawis that you like? It would be easier to help you out then. The types of fish you want versus what we may have pictured could really change the answer as far as stock.
