How Long Will Mature Media Last Just Soaked In Tank Water?

My liberty hob has just given up the ghost after 2 months!!

How long will the media last just soaked in tank water please?

should last atleast 24 hours, if theres fish in the tank probably more, do you have a air pump or sumthing to move the water round? If so position the sponge next to it to keep the water moving through it

it will last 48hrs or maybe a touch
longer i have had filter off for a week
but suffered a small ammonia spike and
nitrite spike but I'd say your pushing it
at that

As long as it has a supply of O2 and is kept wet you will lose 10%-12% every 24 hours.

I took all cory juvi's to lfs,i did soak the media in a tub and have just added an airstone,i bought a cheapy fluval u1,not very good output,but i'm hoping i've saved some media by putting it in too this for now until i replace it,i have added it to an empty tank and added a few flakes to keep it ticking over until tomorrow,when i'll go MA to see what fish they have.

I need to get hold of zooplus,to see what the procedure for filter replacement or exchange.

Do you think they'll want the media sent back as well has the filter?
