i got a 3 gal tank today how long will it take for my tank to cycle.
i have 2 live plants in from my cycled tank 2 baby baloon mollies and a
bronze cory to cycle the tank quicker.
a man at the lfs said about a week but i am concerned i can do it faster

Don't add the fish corys are very sensitive to water quality.
Why don't you just add a mature sponge to your little filter.

wouldn't take to long im guessing as 3 gall isn't that much i'd agree with the fs worker about a week :good:

should i add i mature sponge from my cycled tank. the pump is weird because i havent found where the sponge goes if i cant
find where the sponge goes should i just put it in my water

Yes just add a mature sponge to the filter, what type of filter is it.
But keep the bacteria going by adding some flakes till you get the fish.
If you have a desease in your main tank though don't add anything to the new tank.

no i havent got any disease so should i just put the sponge in my tank if i cant find the place where it goes
i dont know what it is called its a power head 320 i think

The powerhead is that for the new tank.
Its it a juwel tank your mature one.

yes for my new tank its a powere head where is the sponge in it. and yes also my cycled
tank is jewel

i cant believe that. im goin to go to my lfs and get a cheep internal filter.
should i put some mature sponge just floating in my new tank now

No they need to be in a housing unit with the powerhead or inside a filter the sponges.

Molly can you take a pic of the filter and load it onto the site.

i know what i could do cut a lil bit of sponge off my jewel filter and slide it in the filter tube would this work

No because the tube is for the water to come out of and the sponge will block it up.
You could attach the sponge to an airstone I've done that before now in a hospital tank.

i havent got an are stone on it.
how about this idea attatch it to were the water comes out of the filter but so it doesnt clog i up
heres a pic

the bobble and the net are on the bottom because the filter was orriginaly for under the subtrate but i took the
square off the bottom and had sand and so no fish can get sucked up

Just buy a fluval.
Never seen that type of power head, does it work with an undergravel filter plate.
