  Nearly 2 years in may, and still learning everyday.

4 1/2 months.
Hmm - let me see - that means almost 3 fish per month, on average.
YIKES!
:hyper:

I too, am learning new things everyday.
Particularly about betta illnesses...
mostly from you!
lol

Flattery will get you everywhere. :hyper:

I started 15 years ago with general community fish  but only really got obsessed about 4 years ago.

started at about 8 yrs old... until about 22...

started back up again at 27... 30 yrs old now and tanks are growing...

I do have to admit... it is so much easier to learn the ropes with the internet making SO much information available in an instant. As a youngin, I had to rely on my Father and my LFS for info. Some book research was done, but I read the books that my Father or LFS recommended...

I think I've learned more in the last 3 years than I did in my first 14

(but still refuse to convert to modern fish lingo :p)

First fish, was a blue betta (RIP) , around 1965 , in Texas. Put him in a 1/2 ga. snifter , and his mate in a 5 gal. tank. They were the first fish I bred and raised about 5 fry. I was hooked, solid.
I've usually had some kind of fish , when possible , since.
Got to get back into bettas, there are some beauties out there today.
Right on about the internet, a lot of good info. When I started there were few books, and what you could pick up from LFS. LFS were a little more knowledgable back then, most of the time.
Still have my Innes book , pretty worn, but I still look at it now and again.
Later KW. :)
