Hi

I have a semi-planted tank which contains various plants such as java fern, vals, rotalas, ambulia and others whos names i cant remember.. i use 'excel' fertiliser and im adding a CO2 system soon

I have a double fitting light ballast thing and i was wondering how much light i would need and for how long i would have to leave them on for..

Would 1 36w 10000k T8 tube be sufficient or is it best to have two running at the same time and mix up the colour temps?

thanks

excel is a source of carbon, you need to be using something like flourish which contains NPK & trace elements

8-10hrs is fine.

what size tank is it?

oh yeah sorry i forgot to mention i use it in conjuction with seachem flourish

The tank is 300 litres..how many watts do u reccomend and any specific colour temps?

thankss

i would run both tubes, colour temp i usually go for 6000-10 000K as it is white and it brings out the colours best.
