This is the list I've come up with for stocking my new 55 gal tank. I want to put them all in at once when the tank is done cycling. Does anyone see any problems with this combo? Also, could you suggest a few colorful types if my tank is big enough for more

4 yellow labs
6 pseudotropheus Acei
4 pseudotropheus Saulosi

I have been researching like crazy but can never seem to find a combo I like that are small enough, same aggression level, etc. So, thank you for helping.

I also like Johanniis... I think I saw somewhere that the two pseudotropheus may cross breed... so could I substitue Johanniis for the saulosi? From the pics they look similar.

your saulosi and acei shouldnt cross ive never kept but think johanniis are real buggers
saulosi are well mannered so are the acei but yellow labs are not as chilled as everyone says when fully grown in my experirence. what about afra hara reef afra , mbamba mphanga or afra chiwindi they are well natured? and would work ok with your list

I looked up the fish you mentioned and they are all beautiful. I saw one...afra chiwindi "blue neon" that I loved. I worry about how easy it is going to be to find the ones I've selected when I start shopping. Any suggestion on male/female ratios on the fish I wanted in the first post or on the ones you suggested?

I just discovered Frontosa! Looks like it could work... maybe

No, they won't: they need much larger tanks.. starting at 4*2*2 ft and preferably 6+*2*2 ft.
