I have a 55 gallon tank with a two sided bio filter and a powerhead air pump. It contains several fake plants as well as one big live one. It's only decoration is a fake rock that is shaped like a circle. And a cave like thing for hiding

Now on to the adorable fishies inside :)

4 platies

2 tetras

2 silver tipped sharks

1 green spotted puffer

1 bala shark

1 "dinorsaur eel"

1 plecostomus

Is there anything I should add plant-wise? Should I be on the watch for something? Basically what I'm trying to ask is does this setup have any problems that wouldn't be noticable right off the bat? Or found out by general research?

Welcome to the forum Flyingpie.
The only thing I can see is that the silver shark and bala shark can be a bit aggressive with your more peaceful fish. That sometimes leads to trouble over the long term. Depending on which species of pleco you have, you may end up with a fish that is far too large for your tank. If it is a bristle nose or one of the other small species it would be OK but if it is a "sailfin" or one of the other common species,it can grow to over a foot long and as big around as you forearm.

What do you mean by 'silver tipped Sharks'?
Silver Tip Sharks
Silver Tipped Shark Catfish
Or Silvertip Tetra

As far as aggressive fish in the tank go, the Platies are the trouble. They kinda go after everyone. After watching the tank for long periods I've noticed that the fish that are supposed to be semi aggressive are more lax than the ones labeled community. I've read various things about the Puffer, but mine seems like live in oblivion. He doesn't even notice the other fishes. lol

I forgot to include a Dolmation Molly in my first post. Are there too many fish in the tank right now? It's not a long term tank. I will be getting a tank that will exclude the Tetras and the Platies.
