I just wondered how hard haps are too keep? The specific spicies that im looking at is Dimidiochromis compressiceps.

anyone know much about them? could I keep two by themselfs in a 300 litre 4foot?

If you've kept mbuna, haps will be no problem. The main differences: diet- haps are generally piscavores which can be fed any carnivorous diet, decor - they prefer minimal decor as they are mostly open water predators, size - they can range from 3" to over 18". Just like mbuna you do need to stock very carefully.

Dimidiochromis compressiceps isn't going to work for your tank, at 11" and very active and aggressive, they need a minimum 6ft tank.

There are quite a few other haps that would work in it though, what else are you interested in?

I like the mouth on the dimidiochromis and I saw it in the shop, the way it moved etc....Oh well ill just sell the tank..just was one last shot..

SELL THE TANK???? blasphemer!!!

never sell your tanks, you never know when you'll need one! just break it down and store it.

Why not try Altolamprologus Compressiceps or A. Calvus if you like the mouth shape?
