Ello, I'm hoping to change my 215l tank to a south american planted so I though i'd run my stock list by you, just incase.

4x Blue rams or Golds, maybe mixture?
2x Dwarf Borelli cichlids, pair
10x Tetra, long finned serpae
1x L270
1x L260

Any other suitable fish?
Any ideas highly appreciated

Thanks in advance
Joe

you might want to re-think the rams, they demand higher temperatures than your average tropical. bolivians would be a better choice IMO, i would also go for a smaller fish than the serpae tetras, and a shoal of cories wouldnt go a miss also :)

ok, so maybe this?

4x Bolivian Rams
10x Cardinal Tetra
1x Keyhole Cichlid, maybe 2?
1x L270
1x L260
6x some corys, which type?

Thanks

That would work you could keep 2 keyholes also. I would only get one Pleco if you want cory cats. The plecos you picked are small but You don't want too many Bottom feeders.

ok, this is my final stocking:

4x Rams
12x Neon Tetras
2x Keyhole Cichlids
1x L129
6x Peppered Corydoras

Any problems?

Thats great news! I have 6 neons already, I always wanted 20+ but didn't know if it would be overstocking.
I'm going to have some rootwood running along the length of the tank with some vallis behind and crypts and hairgrass in front.

Thanks
Joe

if you want to go out all south american, finding some plants from america would fit the bill perfectly!

thanks, there's a plant called bacopa australis from Brazil that grows flowers, definately gunna have that.

the thing with plants is, its not a case of just putting them in the tank...other factors to consider is how much light is over your tank, what your ferts and CO2 regime consists of.

Yep, there won't be any c02, there will be a nutrient substrate and high light, I'm choosing plants that either say easy to care for or moderate. I may not go for South American plants.

with high light your going to need liquid carbon, or you may face algae problems...im 100% certain you will get algae with high light no CO2
