So, I'm getting some MTS for my tank (don't try to talk me out of it, they're already on their way, lol) and I want to know what happens if one dies under the substrate.

Will the other MTS eat it?

I have a sand substrate, so I'm not doing any gravel vacuuming that would suck it up...

Thanks! :fun:

I don't know if MTS would eat dead ones or not; I suspect not, but I don't think you need worry anyway.

Unless you had a huge amount of snails die, all at the same time, in a small tank, it wouldn't produce enough ammonia to cause any problems.

Well, it is only a 10gal tank, but the likelihood of them all dying like that without me having added something toxic to them would be pretty small, right?

Oh, definitely. MTS are as tough as old boots.
