How Do People Top Up Their Tanks?

I wish i could copy these techniques...I have a 5 gallon bucket that i fill up in my bath tub, then carry it to my bedroom, where i have a towel laid down in front of the tank. I used a gallon pitcher to take two loads of water and pour it in through the hood lid, then just pour from the bucket...its very inefficient and i hate it but i love my fish so...lol

To the OP:

I dunno where you live, but if it's in the UK, Tescos sell a car boot liner/ground sheet combo for a fiver. I got two of them (one to stand the hood and the glass top sheet on and one for the buckets, water, escapee fish, soggy footprints, etc) and a. they're handy to have around for any messy odd job and b. they fold up and can be stashed away. Heck! You can even use 'em for what they were designed for as car boot liners!!

:good:

Otherwise, I also use a handy battery powered siphon for both vacuuming the gravel and siphoning out the water. Oh, and if you need to buy aquarium tubing (if it's not supplied with your siphon) then always buy more you think you need coz if you're anything like me, water will go ev-er-y-where rather than in the bucket...

:D
