How Do People Keep Algae Under Control?

I was wondering how people keep their algae under control?

I seem to have a couple of places where it seems to grow no matter what I do and it seems to be a never ending problem.

I quite like it in places but not when it is taking over the corals.

Any sugestions?

I am doing a 10% water change weekly.

My stats are :

nitrite 0-0.1
Nitrate 5-20
magnesium 1300-1400
calcium 400-450
strontium 12
kh 10
pH 8.1-8.3
0.0124-0.0125
phosphate 0-0.25
amonia 0

Look again at the flow you are getting to these area's, sometimes just getting enough water movement can eliminate algae.

assuming the algae is the green stuff that is, how old is your tank?

Yeah as said above what kind of algae is it? Increased water flow often helps and algae in a marine tank in generally caused by high phosphate levels so I would recommend using some phosphate remover as well.
