Hand feeding large predatory fish is not a good idea, if the fish associate your hand with food it can make doing maintainance in the tank difficult and even dangerous as they automatically go to the hand for food and may bite your fingers, even if the wounds caused by the bite itself are not serious injuries sustained in aquariums often quickly become infected as wet tropical enviroments are a haven for all kinds of bacteria.
