I am *hoping* to order some swordtails and have them shipped USPS express with a heat pack. This week the temperature has be 50-60 during the day all the way down to 30-40 at night. I am not planing to order them until next week or later, if I do. They will be shipped from southern California, along the cost. So, as many of the US members know southern California is burning to a crisp :-( , hopefully things will get better soon. I know they are still shipping fish, but I'm wondering if the temperature at night would be too cold for them?

thanks,

It should not pose a problem. Mid January below zero temperatures can be a problem, at least double if not triple heat packs are needed. At the opposite end of the spectrum is mid-July heat, many fish can't tolerate the high temperatures.

I'm going in on a shipment of fish that should arrive end of this week or beginning of next week, depending on when they are packed & shipped. Spring & fall are probably your best shipping times.
