How Can I Polish The Water

hi im just wondering if thairs a media made for the fluval 2+ that polishes the water bearing mind im using plant ferts and diy co2

Ive a fluval 3+ and i bought fine filter wool of ebay it goes inbetween the two halves of the inner canister. Just search under fluval filter on ebay and it brings up everything. I bought 40 peices for around a couple of pounds and change it every 2 weeks (fine filter wool). It wasnt fluval own brand but it is the right size and does the job. Hope this helps.

yeah filter woll/floss it's dirt cheap and like cotton wool so you just put it in doesn't matter about being designed to fit. make sure it's either the last layer water goes through on your filter (or it'll get really manky quickly) or in a small filter of it's own

Sorry to hyjack the post, Has anyone made a diy filter media of this sort. I don't want to go onto e-bay for it but would regular cotton, or another fabric work???

Most craft or sewing shops sell polyester fiber. It's used for stuffing pillows & such. Get the cheapest stuff, and make sure it has no fire retardants.

Or buy it for pond size and tear bits off as you need it.
