My mum has a friend who owns a 5ft tank with a tand, hood, filter, pump, light, heater, gravel, accessoris and 3 large fish (i think one is an angel)

and she is so sick of it she offered it to me...for free.

and I have no room for it.

Just this once i wish i lived in a massive house.

Make room! Who needs a bed, tv, sofa, kitchen or anything else hehe. Seriously though shame you cant find room.

I know...sigh.

Ive tried to convince my mum that we dont necessarily have to get into the dining room using conventional methods, such as doors. Or we could do without the Welsh Dresser. But its not going to work. Ive seen the tank. I could have my dream fish...a fully grown common pleco...

But is the tank FREE? How can your mum not let you have it... Just tell her how eventualy she'll be paying for a big new tank anyway right? So she might as well save money by letting you have this one - early christmas/birthday present - you won't ask for anything else till next year (which is in like a month ;) )... in the long run it'll cost less - say you'll give her the money when you decide to sell it off (say it'll bring a lot of money cause of all the equipment and the size... you know - EXAGGERATE!) and of course get down on your knees and beg! - or you could always give it to me? :D

you could always keep and not use it yet
just put it in a far part of a room you don't really use (if there is one) until you ahve the proper setup for it...

Lol! No seriously though, taking it but not using it just yet might be the best plan. It wouldn't be long before she got sick of seeing it empty and let you fill it up ;)

Get the tank!!! Seriously, even if you can't use it yet it still something you can't pass up. You will end up regreting it if you don't.

What you need to do is this.

Tell your mum you know someone that wants the tank and say you want to get it off your mums friend to have a look at etc. Then hold it for a few days, before telling your mum that your friend no longer wants the tank. This makes persuading your mum to let you keep things a whole lot easier!

Well, obviously what i am suggesting is evil and malicious but its an option! :p

You could always work under the assumption that I want the tank... Just go tell her now that I'll buy it :) Then go get it for me and make sure it's in good shape...

lol brilliant suggestions from everyone. I even threatened to move out so I could have a flat with room for the tank and she didnt bat an eyelid... sniff.. :-(

hee hee. I cant just leave the tank in a corner of the room we dont use because we dont have a corner that big!! we dont have a big house and my room already has a budgie and a 2ft tank in it...plus lots of mess. I could give it the space where my bed is and sleep in the wardrobe or something.

:D

NOT! I love my bed. so comfortyble.

But the whole set up must be worth at least £400. I know at Pets at Home where I work a 48in tank with stand and NO hood is about 200 and thats 4ft ithink...
and without filter/heater/light/fish/gravel/plants.

sigh...

I wouldnt trust myself to store it in the garage plus the fish come with it...

Maybe its time to look for another house...
