I had one and to tell you the truth. I feel it stopped doing it's job after no longer than 2 months. It is hard to tell though since my plants don't have the right lighting yet. Also my water was cloudy for a good while after adding it.

I believe they're about 10cm x 10cm - like bigger version of a tea bag.

I had one when I had no idea about planted tanks, I couldn't possibly tell if it made much difference I'm afraid. I know Andy Green swears by them - but then he is selling them!

The biggest problem I see with them is there's no way of knowing how much you're dosing. Every tank is different in terms of nutrient demands and fertilising methods like this cannot possibly cater for all.

Are you sure you need to add fertilisers? What tank, lighting, planting etc. do you have?
