Hi Guys,

When you read that a fish is a shoaling fish and is best kept in a shoal how many fish do you need to make up a shoal? Or is it dependant on the species?
EG: Silver dollars they are shoaling but grow big or neon tetras that are tiny - Does shoal mean roughy the same for any species?

Thanks again :good:

It does vary from species to species, but just about any article which gives you background on a species will recommend the correct number.

As nelly says, its generally 5+

Yes,
I considered a couple of silver dollars but to have 5+ you would need a fair size tank eh? But they would be stunning to watch together..
