Hi everyone,

I am looking to move my Betta into my Endler tank. Currently have a 12g tank with 5 Endlers in it, and I have a 6g tank with a betta in it. Thing is, the betta was alway intended to be tried in beside the Endlers to see how they'd mix but the day the Betta arrived I had a suspected outbreak of ich and so as an emergency the Betta had to go into a non cycled tank. The Endler tank has now been clear of ich for about a week (in fact i'm thinking there never was ich as the fish in questioned died and none of the others have ever shown ANY signs of disease). The betta is healthy, no sign of disease and he's eating VERY well . I was more than happy to keep him in the 6 g for a good while longer however I have done damage to my back and can barely walk at the moment, so carrying buckets of water, doing daily water changes etc is becoming almost unmanageable so I am thinking to move the betta into the Endler tank to see how they get on as the Endler tank is cycled obviously and so doesn't need the daily water changes.

So I am looking for advice on the best way to introduce him to the Endler tank, and what to watch out for that would suggest it isn't going to work. Also, I would like to add maybe a few Endlers to the tank but I can't get out to get them just now so how would the betta react to new Endlers in future if I were to get any, would this be a problem or would he not recognise them as new given they are the same as the current endlers?

I was thinking that perhaps putting him in a breeders net for 15 minutes and watching his reaction to the endlers may be the safest way to introduce him to the tank?

sorry, lots of questions, but I just want this to go as smooth as possible.

if i was u i would have posted this question in the betta forum if ur lucky it may get moved by a mod?

Ahh yes your right. I never thought  . If there is a mod so kind that they could move this to the betta page I would be ever so grateful.

thanks

So I went ahead and popped my betta into a breeders net in the main tank for about half an hour to see his reaction to the Endlers through the net, he seemed ok, quite relax so after about half an hour i released him into the main tank. So far he seems good. he's given a short chase to the odd Endler if they got too close but he's far too slow for them and he's not actively going looking for them or even bothering about them too much. He's far more interested in checking out the tank. I will keep his other tank set up and running for a few days in case I need to move him back for any reason. Here's a couple of pics (He ripped his fins during shipping)..
