Allright lads. My friend has an unidentified eel in her tank (sold to her by her LFS who thought it was a loach #63###). We think it is a Fire Eel (or Tire Track) but we're not sure.

My questions are:

1 - how big do Fire/Tire Track Eels get?

2 - how aggressive are they? (eg. arowanas will eat anything that fits in their mouth)

The tank the eel is in atm is a 90ltr, with White Skirt Tetras, Kuhli Loaches, Glass Catfish, a Whiptail, an Apple Snail and a Bristlenose....

Either way, it will hit at least 60-80cm, at 10cm it will eat the likes of neons and as it grows, it will pick off larger fish.

They are predatory but not aggressive. Personally, id return the fish as you were missold it and its going to terrorize your tank.
