Has any member of the forum taken an everyday, ordinary household item and adapted in a useful way to use in their aquarium/s. Share with us your inventions.

lol, a toothbrush very good for awkward parts of the aquarium, and a strainer for rinsing gravel in.

Yeah, toothbrush has to be one of the handiest cleaning tools for tank use. It works great on decorations, fake plants, the tank walls and driftwood.

Keep em comming there's bound to be more!!

Used a big margarine tub fastened with clothes pegs as an emergency hospital tank until the shops opened next day--and the fish survived :D

aH I get ya now, bakerboi

Tights are good for putting over filter when you have fry.

We use a pair of long handled barbecue tongs to stir the sand, remove uneaten food and replant plants.

I just remembered the clippy bits from the coathangers you put trousers on work well to clip andthing to the side of a tank. I'm currently using one to clip a bottle to the tank with a betta in (until I set up a tank for him again).
