I have a 5g tank that I'd like to keep as a quarantine tank, but what's the best way to keep it going when there are no fish in it? Should I just drop some food in it every couple of days to keep the bacteria healthy?
In general, most people don't keep their quarantine tanks up and running all the time; I cartainly don't! Just keep the sponges for the filter in the filter in you main tank (or keep the whole filter running in there) until you need the quarantine tank and then just take them out and set it up.
