Horrible White Blob On One Of My Fish?

So i looked in my little tank and saw one of my fish with a massive white "grothy" looking thing, right on the front of its top lip. I netted the fish straight away as i didnt wanna risk anymore fish. Can anyone tell me what it is? Or what might have caused it?
