Hey guys.

I think i have seen some of these at my LFS. and they are really nice.
They are there natural colors and not dyed.
Anyway i was wondering if non dyed parrot cichlids look like this when they are mature.

These are a totally different species to the dyed blood parrot cichlid usually seen,
but I agree they are much nicer

Yeah totally different fish they are much much rarer and a naturalfish as opposed to hybrids. However I know what your thinking and no they get too big for your tank :p They get to about 8 inches +

lol ya i know i was checking them out they lok pretty cool
so then are the parrot in the petland that arent dyed what do they look like then when they get bigger?

Why does it have mouth deformation?

All the parrots at my LFS are not dyed.ever except the blood parrots they get in otherwise they are natural color. and nice.
Do you guys ever get natural colored parrots in?

The mouths are strain bred, they are a result of the hybridization. Its a bit harsh IMO as they can never close their mouths you do get non dyed parrots they are usually between a yellowy orange to a slight red tinge but all around orange.

somewhat of an underestimate.....males get to at least 12-14" and female 10-12"...probably bigger...
