Hope This Isnt The Wrong Forum, I Have A Filter Question

Hey everyone! Im new here and I have a question maybe someone that is really knowledgeable with goldfish can answer me. I have a 46gal bowfront tank with a cascade 700 canister and a hang on the back filter that does like 80 gal tanks. Anyway, I have several 6-7inch goldfish in there. The filtration is good, but I want to upgrade and want to buy a new filter tomorrow. I am looking to buy a new Fluval canister that does up to a 400gal tank, cycling 925gals/hour. The man that is selling it to me said he thought it would be overkill but I want it anyway because it is such a good deal, and I'll have it if I ever decide to get a bigger tank. So my question would be, is there any downside to this much filtration, if you know about goldfish you know about the heavy waste so I thought this would be perfect. Also, with more filtration, are water changes needed as frequently? Thanks in advance for any help!

I would get it, if it is a good deal. The rena XP3 I have on my 55gal is for tanks up to 175gallons. IMO you can't overfilter a tank, just make sure the filter doesn't create too strong a flow for the goldfish. Also i'm not sure how much you know, but when changing the filter always move the filter media from the old filter to the new one.

IMO you can never over filter. Do you know the exact model, and are up planning on running it along side your existing filters or instead of them?
