Hoovering Sand

I've not had my sand long i've only done 2 water changes up to now.Please could you advise me on how to hoover the poo up etc?

Get a gravel cleaner. Keep the end about 1" above the sand. Do a gentle figure of 8 to disturb the poo and suck it up. Keep your finger ready to block the outlet end if you go too near the sand and start to suck that up. Stop the flow and allow sand to drop out. Hope this helps

Try running your fingers through the sand, following with the suction end. The distance you follow should be enough that no sand gets in, but so you can still catch all of the particles that come out. This method also helps in keeping the sand unclogged.

tryed them but still can't get the pooo?

i just sucked up the sand as it was very little and my sand is deep so i never noticed it plus i dont use the expense aquarium sand

i pay £1.97 for a 10 kilo bag

the sand i use is the kids play sand from tesco's my neighbour told me about it as he has been using it for a few years now without any problems

Take the hoover part of the gravel cleaner(so that you just have the pipe)start to syphon then circlre the pipe over the poop about 1" above and you shouldnt have a problem the sand will sink but the poop will vamoos
