Hi, one my tank is cycled im thinking about adding a pair or maybe 3 honey gouramis, the tank is 16g and im wondering how well they would cope, im a new fish keeper and i have read they are pretty easy to keep, is this true? would they be ok in a tank with some smaller fish..would they nip or eat smaller fish such as danios or tetras?

sam

Get a four as this will give you more chance for them to pair off.

They are fine with any small fish. They are not agressive at all.

in a 16g tank would 4 be ok with some nano fish such as zebra danios?

Yh they should be fine as it's big enough for the males to make their own teroterys.

its a 40cm cube

with some extra plants and ornaments i think i could make a nice tank for them

would one male and three females be better?

Yes that would be perfect.

Whats your lfs you go to?

One male with three females would be fine in that tank.
Honey Gouramies are peaceful fish and can be very shy. Zebra Danios are very active and like plenty of swimming space. I wouldn't personally keeo the two together.

a 40 cm cube is not big enough for zebra danios. they would need the length a 60 litre long would not be long enough IMO

and zebra danios arent nano fish ;)

thats celestial danio

Go to the maidenhead they should be able to sex the honeys.

What are nano fish?
