Since the others died and my Gouramis has been with neons and platties its as if hes given up life in the rio400. He has plenty of room and they all visit him but he either hides in the log or under the heater . The tank is 27 ish so should be warm enough. If i look to see he is okay he quickly swim down the othernd of the tank but he used to be King and to see him unhappy is sad.

I could say he is bereaved but don't know if fish get that.

I thought he maybe unwell but is looking okay and eating well.

Its just sad.

Is it a Dwarf Gourami?. They are susceptible to a fatal Iridovirus that's untreatable. They're really best avoided. If you really like Gouramis, try a few Honey Gouramis.

Do you have plenty of plants, decor etc? Mine like it when I have lots of cover for them. Have you recently lost a lot of fish? Has he lost a "buddy"? Have you redone the tank, moved things around?

I mentioned a while ago about my two old dwarf gourami. They were very old. He looked old and tired. I remember saying to my wife at the time, "when he dies, she'll be lost without him". They where a true couple. And it was right too. She only lived a couple of days after he'd gone. It was sad. But even as small as they are, to me that was a powerful message that they too have feelings.

He's a Golden Gouramis and was never able to get along with any other Gouramis and I gave the others away.
Dwarf gouramis and I gave up at the beginning they all got what I call floating disease unable to swim and I hated watching them die so I vow never to et them again.

No this one was king amongst the Bala sharks and the loaches and was like don't come near me and they always got out of the way.
I did notice the day the others died she circled them a lot however it ws a smaller tank and they had no marks so I don't blame him.
I am convinced it was lack of o2.

He is still around and I put the camera on the tank and when no-one is in he swims okay but hides completely when we are around.

I am thinking yes the tank is all changed as it was re done but the Plec that I took back to the fish shop was always in the log so he could never go there. It maybe he ruled the roost from that log he liked and as he is gone Gouramis has taken his place.

He's alive and I will just have to give it time.
