I have kept them before. Mine was a gold honey gourami. So it was a bit darker. I think its fine, but seems like the color is a bit pale? How long have you had this guy? Maybe it is the lighting.

Oh yeah your good, mine colored up nicely after a few weeks, give it some time and he will be a nice yellow. Hes def healthy!

That is a big relief.

Due to our tap water containing 0.2 ammonia I have never achieved O Ammonia.

Oh wow. My tap has no ammonia. Never heard of one having ammonia in the tank. You dose prime, or no?
