Honey Gourami Eating Leaves Off Plants?

Hey all, I was wondering if anybody else has an issue with honey gouramis eating plants. My gf is so sad to see some of

the plants getting nipped. Is this normal?

My dwarf pecks at the plants but he doesn't really do them any harm. Are you actually seeing them do any damage? They might just be pecking at some algae or other microscopic food on the leaves.
