I have 2 pairs of these in two different tanks, one pair has just started breeding and the female has laid her eggs.

Congratulations on the spawn, and awesome pics. Those could be used as wallpaper.

Thanks :) i'm going to take some more pics as the eggs hatch, looks like they have dug out under the bog wood to make a cave which is at the front of the tank, so should get some decent pics of the fry.

You do realize that when posting something like this, you are forced to write a journal???? Just kidding.

great photos of lovely fish, good luck with the eggs, keep us updated
regards Angel

Thanks :)

Here are some pics of today, the eggs have changed colour a bit some have gone all white and some partial white... Shouldn't be too long before they start to hatch now.

!News flash!

The other pair in the 450 have spawned as well! They have claimed an alcove in the ocean rock at the back (wondered why i hadn't seen the female for a while!) shes laid the eggs on the inside of the alcove, its a bit difficult to get a decent view of these pair, just going to try get a shot now. Hopefully they will be ok in the big tank (they seem very ferocious at defending their fry).

Anyone fancy some honduran red point babies in the north west UK area :)

update... can't get any decent pics of these ones yet they are right at the back behind the rocks. :(

NICE!!!!!!!!! The pic of the egg's dont looke to good. Some of them are all white, which mean's fungus, which will spread to the other's. If the HDRP female has spawned before, she will know to eat those egg's or you will lose the whole batch. Best of luck!!!!!!!!!!

Oh dear, hopefully she will know what to do, theres a few of them white, the ones in the other tank are not white, anything i can do? Thanks for the heads up.

There was about 6-7 white ones i just flicked them off with a long handled knife (the male kept attacking me) so they are no where near the non white eggs. I'll keep an eye on the rest now should only be another 8-16 hours max before they are ready from what i've read. Theres atleast 16 eggs left that are ok at the moment, any know what the success rate for hatching is?

Out of my con's( as you know, them and HDRP are almost identical) almost 98% of the egg's hatched, and the fermale was only 1 adn a 1/2 inches. SO it depend's on the fish. You might want to try Methylene Blue. It work's to prevent fungus, so you cant save the white one's, but you can prevent it from spreading. Best of luck.
