Out of my con's( as you know, them and HDRP are almost identical) almost 98% of the egg's hatched, and the fermale was only 1 adn a 1/2 inches. SO it depend's on the fish. You might want to try Methylene Blue. It work's to prevent fungus, so you cant save the white one's, but you can prevent it from spreading. Best of luck.

Thanks, the lfs is shut today i went down earlier. No more have gone white as of yet, i read that these are either bad or unfertilized eggs that get fungus. Hopefully I've prevented the fungus from these ones spreading. I have a 36 watt UV on the other tank so hopefully that will stop it happening on that batch.

Fingers crossed waking up to some HDRP fry in the morning ^^ :D

If there are some, make sure you get some pic's!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are still there, must have a duff male (although they are still only young). Its been over 36 hours now and nothing so i guess thats it for this batch? :(
The other tanks pair's eggs have all disappeared so they have either been eaten by the loaches or i have some fry hiding amongst the rocks. (i guess i'll find this out in a few weeks if i see any more HDRPs!)

I'd give them another day, before calling the breeding a failure.

Some more went white so i flicked those off the wood with a knife again. Theres a few which now look totally see through and some which are browner (about 10). They are still fiercely guarding the eggs... how often do they spawn usually? I've been keeping them well feed on bloodworm, sinkers and flake and the tank is over filtered, well areated also doing 10-15% water change every week.

** WRIGGLERS ** !! We have 3 wrigglers in the tank with the ones i can get photos of. And the other tank there are loads of them hidden in the rocks wiggling away! W00t w00t.
The female keeps putting them in her mouth and moving them around, hopefully the 3 will survive as i can't get any decent pics of the others.

Yep! Glad they hatched. This next week will be crucial after that, as long as you take good care of them, they will survive. Post pic's!!!!!!!!

congrats on the breeding :hyper: :good:

:good: They are doing well, i can see lots of little black eyes of the wrigglers, can't get any decent pics they are in an alcove inside a load of ocean rock. Will post some if i manage to get some. Definately have some when they are swimming around :).

The guppies in the bedroom tank have had lots of fry got some pics of those, going to post em up in the correct section though :hyper:

They've moved the fry back to where they eggs were orginally laid. Managed to get a few blury pics (they are right at the back of tank and the fry are tiny!)

The adults are scooping the fry in there mouths and putting them back in the alcove if they stray out of it, very entertaining to watch. Seem to be growing quickly :) :good:

The other 2 are in quaratine as the female seemed to get what looked like a bit of cotton mouth (possibly from the fungus from the eggs..?) They are in a small tank fixed to the side of the big tank they were in and being medicated with primafix and a dash of melafix. I've also put a small dose in that tank to make sure it doesn't spread. Shes looking better already after a couple of days.

Nice the female look's very Pretty! I think i can just make out the babies!

Yeah they look like alage on the rock in the pic, i'll see if i can get em on video might work a bit better rather than static pics.

I turned the LEDs on for night and turned the main lights off, about 2 mins later all the fry had gone from the cave (i've got a green light shining quite near so i could keep an eye on the fry) they'd moved them back to the other bit of rock further inside the cluster again. The female is now perched over the dip in the rock where the fry are guarding them, and the male is swimming around beating on anything that comes near them, hes not even 2 inches and seeing off the 12" plec lol. Amazing fish these especially when it comes to looking after there young.

Update: The fry are getting bigger, can make them out now in the pictures :)
