I like to call myself, "The Plant Killer". And for good reason. I can't keep plants alive for nothing. Well apparantly that has all changed. I recently added some plants into my 29 and 10 gallon tanks, on November 20th... While the 29 has shown a bit of growth, the 10 is out of this world!

Here's pics of the 10 gallon when I first put the plants in on the 20th.

And the teeny tiny Milfoil that was in there.

And here is the very same 10 gallon less than a week later!!! :hyper: (The Mollies were eating the Sword...thats why parts of it are brown...they aren't in there anymore... :sly:)

Yay! Maybe I can finally change my nickname! :p

Thanks guys! I certainly couldn't believe it when I looked into the tank and saw that. Freaked me out pretty bad...I didn't know plants grew that fast.

And thanks, balloon molly. Even though the comps are dead, I still appreciate it.

Hey Arashi

Im a plant killer too I feel ur pain

Join are club we meet every friday.

Im recently starting to get this plant thing.

So far im building a Co2 I think u should do the same.

Good job. Hope they continue to do well for you.

Something that will help the sword plant tremendously would be to place some fertilizer tabs at the roots that contain iron. They are very heavy bottom feeders.
I tried swords before with absolutly no luck before. Since I have added laterite and Floramax in with my gravel and use Flourish Tabs by Seachem, my Echinodorus rubin is going nuts.

Thanks, Chris!

JoKeR - Every Firday huh? Hey wait...thats tonight! I gotta go prepare my notes on how to best kill them off this week! :p :fun: I'm actually doing a lot of reading on the Co2 stuff...maybe I will get a system running soon.

elgecko - Thanks very much. I actually have some tab fertilizers ordered for them, since I can't find any at all in the stores around here. I'm hoping that will do the trick on getting them to grow nice and big. :flex:

Most stem plants grow very very quickly, especially in the beginning of their tank lives. It's why we like to use them to banish algae . . . :shifty:

Anyway, you will find that once established you'll probably have to start doing hair cuts a lot-- you can plant the trimmings.
