ive read on here that when away on holiday for only 1 week there would be no need to feed a community tank and that they will be fine with no food, im going away in the morning and could someone please tell me if its ok if they go without for 1 week?

What fish/tank /filtrating do you have.

i have a 130l tank with a fluval 4+ filter (upto 400l i think), the fish are a mixture of tetras with 3 bn cats and 2 spotted hoplo's

wait for other replys but i wouldnt worry just give them a normall feed b4 you go and they should be ok i think

Yes they will be fine. Just feed them a little before you go. I don't think my pet sitter fed my fish for 10 days while I was gone and they were fine with the exception of one tetra. It's better to not feed at all then to have someone over feed them and have an ammonia spike while your gone.

Yeah, you should be fine.

Like stated above, it is better to under-feed than to over-feed, which can lead to other problems.

Yes you have nothing in there that will not be ok for a week. Maybe turn the lights off for the week which will make them less active.

Many fish benifit from this fasting (although they don't know it.) They will be very pleased to see you on your return, just don't be tempted to over feed before or after your holiday
