Hi there,

I am going to be away for 12 days soon, the last two times I have been away I have come back to either dead fish or lots of algae when someone else (a different person both times!) has fed the fish.

What's the best way to feed the fish, has anyone had any problem with the dissolvable white pyramids? I believe they last for 7 days, which I am guessing would be OK if away for 12?

Thanks,

M

Fish can go up to 2 weeks without food. So 12 days should be fine. If your worried you could add a holiday block or ask someone to feed them twice whilst your away, by giving them 2 premesured pots and hide the rest of the food. Personally think they will be fine.

Smells A Bit Fishy is spot on. When I went away I got someone to come in and feed them just once a week and left the pre- measured food in 2 little pots. This way they dont get overfed and it will also keep your tank cleaner with no uneaten food and less poo while you cant do water changes :good:

What about one of those ten day feeders? Drop it in, it will dissolve over time and release food? I think the fish would be fine for the remaining days unless they're fry.

Oh - more on this topic:
