Hmmm.. Still No Fry... (Balloon Molly's)

My Balloon Molly's have been looking over-due now for days.. but I am slowly coming to the conclusion, they are not pregnant!

It seems I have been waiting ages for them to drop their fry and it just isn't happening.


IF they ''abort'' their fish for what ever reason do they actually expell them or re-absorb them?

I think if they hadn't had them by the morning I will let them back into the main tank (200 litres) and let nature take it's course IF they are pregnant!

I will keep this thread up to date on latest information

Yes, One white male - They were all sharing the same tank in the LFS.


..And until about 5 days ago I had no idea we had mixed sexes either.

Due to the deformed body shape in Balloon species you cant tell if their pregnant or not.
You cant even guess on the day they drop their fry!

Yes you are right, didn't realize it was the same person.

If you do have males in the tank as was said in other topic you posted, then they mostlikely are pregnant because livebearers breed so easily.
