Was the fry tank too deep that he got exhausted constantly diving for them? Some male bettas have such large fins that you would think he probably got tired after a while. Can you lower tank depth? Mabye it would help?

The water level was 4 inches. He was picking them up, but they would "stick" in the nest. I plan spawning them the 16th.

I'm going to re-breed them this weekend. I finally have the tank space and maybe it will take my mind off the loss of my dog.
