How much and how often do you feed your bottom feeders? Or do they just eat the scraps that fall to the bottom. I want to feed mine but I dont want to over feed. How many small algae wafers should I feed them and how often? Everyday...every other day? There 6 corys in the bottom.

Even though I have a bad algae problem, I feel like I am almost underfeeding my fish in general. I feed a small amount of flakes every morning (as a point of reference as to how small, the package of flakes that came in the starter kit for the tank lasted 3 months). I also generally give them a cube of brine shrimp, tubiflex or daphnia every other night (actually not a whole cube as some of that goes to the 2 bettas). I also drop in 2 or 3 sinking wafers when I give them the frozen food. I mainly put those in for the shrimp and the corys. Does that sound like I am overfeeding? I don't think so but algae (black beard, BGA and some sort of brown stuff) is bad.

i have loads of bottom feeders, so add a few catfish pellets, or shrimp pettets, sometime the odd algae wafer, they also like cucumber and even half a grape.
Also frozen bloodworm is very good and they love it, i feed them esp. twice a week the rest of the time they forage. di
