Hiya all
My Rio 300 sits in my computer room and its always pretty warm in there about 80f and the tank seems to be about 82f according to my fluval E 300 heater.
Is this temperature ok for the fish i have. I currently have 10 clown loaches, 3 silver molies, 2 bristlenose plecs, 3 sucking loach, and 8 gouramis.

Ive dont the normal things of adding colder water etc but after a few hours its back to 82 and i dont have time everyday to keep doing this. I cant leave the top open as 2 of the golden gouramis keep shooting to the surface every now and again and splashing water all over the place for some reason. I have good water movement so im guessing the air in the tank is fine as no other fish seems to be suffering.

Is 82 ok for the fish i have and if my tank is always going to be about 82f is there any advice on fish i should avoid or just general suggestions.

Thanks

the best method i have used so far is closing all windows and doors and the curtains i had this done the other day and it only went up to 27 (from 26)

28C should be fine. I've had my tanks running at various temps and i notice my fish are generally happier around 27/28C. Certainly my loach are far more active at 28C which is what its running at currently. Perhaps jsut keep an eye on your gourami's and check they're breathing properly. Rapid gill movement is generally a sign to take note of, if you don't see anything then you should be ok.

When i had my Rio 180 in my bedroom i never bothered with a heater (mainly in summer) due to the fact i always have either my tv, computer or xbox running so the heat in my room throughout the day naturally kept my tank warm. Even in winter i run without a heater and it never goes below 20C at its lowest point.
