Does anyone know if lead is dangerous to fish and aquatic amphibians? Since September when we moved the weekend following the hurricane, we have been having water advisories, boiling water warnings etc...and now there are notices going around our and neighboring towns about high lead content and how to protect yourself....running the water if it has been sitting in the pipes a few hours, not using the hot water for food/cleaning etc etc etc.

Since being at my new house, I and a few others feel that we are having less than happy results with our tanks - - collectively there are a few more deaths than we are comfortable with.

Anyone know how/if lead levels affect the tanks and inhabitants?

I dont know anything on the subject of lead, but from what you said it seems to be mainly hot water which is affected, so I guess the answer is to only use cold water and get it up to temperature using other means before putting it in your tank.
